Building evidence packs that survive bank confirmation follow-up
Bank confirmations fail most often on logistics, not on theory. The evidence pack should hold the confirmation letter, the bank’s reply, reconciliation to the general ledger, and a clear trail for any reconciling items.
When a confirmation remains outstanding, document the alternative procedures you will run — subsequent receipts, statements, or agreement to loan schedules — before the fieldwork week ends. Waiting until review night invites incomplete files.
For accounts held with multiple Taiwan banks, map which branch or online portal owns each account number. Teams lose days chasing the wrong correspondence desk.
Photograph or scan envelopes and portal timestamps when authenticity might later be questioned. It feels pedantic until an exception meeting asks how the reply arrived.
